All seniors are invited on Tuesday, June 13, to tour Stone Creek Coffee followed by lunch at Miss Katie’s Diner (leave GUMC at 9am).  On the tour we will learn the history of the classic cream city brick building, built in 1888, converted into a coffee factory in 1999, and eventually into Stone Creek’s training facility and cafe in 2012.  This tour outlines the beginning of the coffee story (from the farm) through the processing at origin and in the facility, until it finally makes its way as brewed coffee into a cup. We’ll get to take a look at the roaster, green coffee storage area, see and smell the Stone Creek Kitchen, and learn more about specialty coffee.  Following the tour we will go to lunch at Miss Katie’s Diner “Storied 1950s-themed diner featuring a menu of classic American fare.”  Cost of the tour is just $5, and of course your lunch, but we would like to add on $2 to give to our gracious drivers.  Please sign up and remit your check to hold your spot.  If you have not yet driven for an XYZ event, please consider driving.  Thank you.
