Teen ministries
Gethsemane United Methodist Church has an active youth program that serves students in grades 6 – 12. Under the leadership of Carrie Lee Anderson, the ministry offers various programs and outreach opportunities that support and encourage students along their journey in faith to accept Christ personally, know God intimately, and walk in the Spirit faithfully.
The Youth Group: Meets every Sunday evening during the school year at the church from 6 – 7:30 p.m. The evening events include dinner, provided on a rotational basis by youth group members, followed by a variety of fun/interactive games, outings (bowling, skating, movie night, The Dells, etc.), a time for studying topics of interest for our youth today, and getting to know God and each other better.
Weekend Retreats: Throughout the year, the Youth Group also provides additional opportunities for students to deepen their faith and friendships with one another through weekend retreats for both the Junior and Senior high students participating in local service projects, with a highlight of the annual Mission Trip for students entering 9th grade through recent high school graduates.
All students in the 6th through 12th grade are invited to join GUMC’s Youth Group at anytime. As always, friends and parents are always welcome and encouraged to join in the fun.
